Different Ways of Improving Your Smile
Some people look great in photos.
Others are left wondering why they just didn't keep their mouths closed. They
may just not know how to smile for the camera or are just not proud of their
smiles. Either way, if you are bothered my misaligned teeth you can always have
them straightened.
Teenagers do it all the time. They
do so because their hormones dictate that they want to look good. They want to
fit in. For adults, it's usually a case of realizing there is something wrong
with their teeth all this time and they want to fix it. So they go to the
dentist for teeth straightening procedure.
Most of the time, it involves dental
braces. Since each person's set of teeth and associated problems is different,
one should consider other alternatives to straighten them.
Metal braces are the most common
method of straightening teeth. Because of its high availability, they are more
often seen in teenagers. This is also partly due to teenagers' ability to wait
whereas adults look more for instant results. Dental braces are usually worn
for a year or two, after which they are often replaced with dental retainers
until the teeth's position stays in place.
Despite the long wait, braces are
effective. Just look back at girls from your high school who wore them and how
lovely they look today.
If you have chipped teeth and want
to straighten them out, dental veneers would be your best option. Veneers are
thin strips of ceramic, usually porcelain, that are attached to your teeth.
Once bonded, you treat them as your own teeth. These aren't permanent, though,
but they do last at least ten years before they need replacing.
